New Northeast Naples location Coming Soon!

For many people, the hardest part of bunion surgery is the worry beforehand. The fear almost always traces back to a story — someone who knows someone who heard that bunion surgery was the worst pain of their life. Those stories come from older, traditional open surgery. Today, with minimally invasive technique and modern pain control, that experience is largely a thing of the past. Here is what to actually expect.

Before Surgery

We confirm the deformity with a weight-bearing X-ray, review your health and medications, and choose the least invasive procedure that will give a lasting correction. You will know in advance whether it can be done in the office under local anesthesia and what your recovery will involve — no surprises.

Controlling Pain

Comfort is engineered into the whole process, not left to chance. We combine anti-inflammatory medication, a nerve block, gentle minimally invasive technique that spares the soft tissue, a long-acting local anesthetic that can keep the foot numb for hours, and a steroid injection to limit inflammation. The result speaks for itself: most of our patients report a pain score of just 0 to 3 out of 10 at their first post-operative visit.

After Surgery and Recovery

Don’t Let Fear Keep You in Pain

A bunion only worsens with time, and waiting reduces your options. If anxiety about pain has held you back, an honest conversation about the modern approach usually puts those fears to rest.
