Research Assistant 2016
● Collected and Processed data on the flexibility, structure and function of over 1200 cadets’ feet at
West Point Military Academy. Research aimed to determine the risk of injury in different foot
types and explore the role of shoe orthotics in minimizing these injuries.

Independent Study Thesis 2014-2015
● Independently studied the enzyme NicF (one of several enzymes involved in the degradation
pathway of Bordetella pertussis that ultimately causes whooping cough) to elucidate methods that
could render it nonfunctional, thus inhibiting the spread of Bordetella pertussis in humans. This
study spanned over 2 years culminating in a 60-page thesis and two hour long thesis defense.
