Adult and pediatric flatfoot is one of the most overlooked deformities in medicine. Patients often tell us, “My pediatrician said my child will grow out of it,” or are told a collapsing arch is nothing to worry about. The reality is that an uncontrolled flatfoot can progress to tendon collapse, tendon tears, and pain that travels up to the knees, hips, and back. The before-and-after video shows what talotarsal stabilization can achieve.

What Is HyProCure and Talotarsal Stabilization?

In many flatfeet, the ankle bone (talus) slides forward and inward on the heel bone, partially dislocating the joint with every step — a condition called talotarsal instability. HyProCure is a small titanium stent placed into the natural space between these bones (the sinus tarsi) to realign the joint and restore the arch. Because it is minimally invasive, it often allows a quicker recovery than traditional bone-cutting procedures.

Why You Shouldn’t Ignore a Flatfoot

A Range of Options — and Why Experience Counts

A lot can be done today, from simple implants such as HyProCure to bone grafts and fusions for more advanced deformities. Not every doctor is familiar with all of these options, so seek a surgeon experienced in both pediatric and adult flatfoot to get a full picture of what is possible for your foot.
