The reality is that an uncontrolled flatfoot can progress to tendon collapse, tendon tears, and pain that travels up to the knees, hips, and back. What Is HyProCure and Talotarsal Stabilization?
In many flatfeet, the ankle bone (talus) slides forward and inward on the heel bone, partially dislocating the joint with every step — a condition called talotarsal instability. HyProCure is a small titanium stent placed into the natural space between these bones (the sinus tarsi) to realign the joint and restore the arch. Because it is minimally invasive, it often allows a quicker recovery than traditional bone-cutting procedures.
Why You Shouldn’t Ignore a Flatfoot
- Children generally do not simply grow out of a symptomatic flatfoot — at minimum it should be supported and monitored
- Uncontrolled collapse can stretch and tear the posterior tibial tendon
- The misalignment can contribute to knee, hip, and lower-back pain
